Night works are how new MRT lines and roads get built, and some of them send buses on a different route after dark. Two are running now. Night closures for the Jurong Region Line works on Jurong Town Hall Road and West Coast Road run from 19 June to 30 October. TPE/SLE Exit 2 closes early on selected nights from 7 July to 31 October, and services 34 and 53 are diverted on those nights.

Quick plan: check Public Alerts, then bus arrivals on Transit, then the Trip Planner, before you walk to the stop.

What is running now

The chart shows the date ranges announced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), with today marked. Two of the three end in the last days of October.

Timeline chart of three works from April to November 2026: Jurong Region Line night closure from 19 June to 30 October, TPE/SLE Exit 2 early closure from 7 July to 31 October, and the Sengkang West LRT adjustment from 19 April to 18 October, with 14 October marked
Date ranges from LTA announcements, as at 14 October 2026.

These dates describe the period the works run, not a promise that a road is closed every night. Nightly times, and the exact bus services affected, can change, so check the latest notice for the night you are travelling.

Check before you leave, in three steps

  1. Open Public Alerts. Road Traffic lists incidents and road works. Public transport alerts list bus and train service advisories, and road blocks appear under Other. Bus service changes announced by LTA appear in public transport alerts and on the Transit page.
  2. Open Transit. The two stops nearest you show live bus arrivals straight away. Save your home and work stops so your commute is one glance. Arrival times are estimates, so look again right before you walk to the stop.
  3. Open the Trip Planner. Compare bus, MRT, walking, taxi and drive, then tap Plot on map to see the route. If your usual bus is diverted, an MRT leg may be the easier choice.

Get a nudge instead of checking

You do not have to remember to look. In Settings you can choose which alert categories send you a notification. Tap a notification and the app opens the right category and the exact alert when one is available.

The bigger picture in numbers

On 14 October, the data behind PantauSivik held 4,892 road work entries from the LTA feed, and 1,811 of them were due to end within 30 days. Entries cover private, utility and public works, so not every one means a closed road. They give a sense of how much is going on, and how quickly the picture changes.
