Deepavali Eve 2026: which buses run later on Saturday 7 November

By ZN Labs4 min read
Three tiles: Saturday 7 November, 54 bus services with extended hours, and a last bus as late as 1:50am at Jurong East

Deepavali Eve falls on Saturday 7 November 2026. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that selected bus services will run later that night, and that train operating hours will also be extended. This post lists the last bus times in the LTA notice, by the location where each bus leaves, and what to check before you go. Our post on Little India at Deepavali covers the lights and the crowds.

In short: on Deepavali Eve, Saturday 7 November 2026, 54 selected bus services run later. Last buses leave between 12:55am and 1:50am at the 20 locations in the notice, with Jurong East the latest at 1:50am. LTA says trains also run later but gives no times, so check the train operators.

The last bus times

Each time below is the last extended bus after midnight at the location shown, from the LTA notice. A service that is not listed has no extension in the notice. The notice says 53 services, but both its list and its table show 54, so we count 54.

Dot chart of the last bus time after midnight at 20 locations on Deepavali Eve 2026. Jurong East is latest at 1:50am, Bukit Batok 1:45am, Choa Chu Kang 1:40am. Eunos and Toa Payoh are earliest at 12:55am.

What about trains?

The LTA notice says the bus extension complements an extension of train operating hours on Deepavali Eve, but it names no lines and gives no train times. The train operators publish those. For reference, last year SBS Transit extended the North East Line, Downtown Line and Sengkang Punggol LRT by about half an hour on the eve of Deepavali. Do not assume this year matches, and check SBS Transit and SMRT before you travel.

If you are heading to Little India

The Festival Village on Campbell Lane runs to 8 November, so it is open on Deepavali Eve. In our station crowd records, Little India was Low through the evening on both Saturdays we recorded, 17 and 24 October, and busier on Sunday evenings. Deepavali Eve is not a normal Saturday, so check the live crowd view before you head home. Our look at when and where MRT stations get busy has more.
